Family
Friendly Aruba……
Kenny
& I are basking in the sun on the beautiful beaches of
Aruba… a far cry from the monsoon rains we experienced on our
drive to Ohare in the wee hours of the morning this past
Saturday. We are staying at the all inclusive Divi Resort. This
is our 4th trip to this beautiful island.. and we
find more to love with each return visit. The white powdery sand
beaches with the turquoise blue water is breathtaking…The
tropical breezes and low humidity are great for menopausal women
!!!! Laying
on the beach or poolside.. soaking up the sun
is quite comfortable ..Unlike many islands.. you need not
worry about the drinking water.. it is some of the world’s
finest.. and no worries about the food as well.
So as we said.. Aruba
is Family Friendly..
For most parents the thought of leisurely sipping
exotic drinks
surfside in paradise
is the “ stuff of dreams”.
With children along, there are only so many sandcastles
to make, waves to
jump over, & seashells to find..before the risk of boredom
& even downright CRANKINESS sets
in…. Start with a plan… But remember to
“
BE FLEXIBLE”…… Make sure you always remember your camera… Awesome Aruba
Memories are just waiting to be made…
A visit to Aruba’s Butterfly Farm is an unforgettable
encounter with nature in all it’s beauty. Step into a tropical
garden with
butterflies from around the world.. and observe the life cycle
of these beautiful animals from egg to
butterfly. Kids
love to visit the “Ostrich
Farms”.. They are the most awkward looking animals..
There is something for all ages at the “Redtail Sports &
Pelican Adventures”….paddle boats, banana boat
rides…beginning snorkeling & sailing trips for the whole
family. The
“Atlantis Adventure Submarine Tour” is a great way to
witness the remains of 2 ship wrecks.. see spectacular coral
reefs & colorful sea life in the comfort of air conditioning
& you don’t even get wet !!!
If you want to make big waves with the whole family..
head out to “Morgan’s Island”.. pirate themed water park.
It has a 70 ft. “speed slide.”
“Adventure Golf Aruba” offers miniature golf, go
karting, & batting cages.
Aruba has movie theatres, a drive in, bowling lanes,
& even paintball adventures for the younger set’s
entertainment. A visit to the ‘Historic California Lighthouse”.. or how about “dune sliding” at
the Boca Prins Sand Dunes.
There are actually so many activities for the kids to
do… remember to slow down long enough to simply
enjoy your family time…because childhood
flies by far too fast… even in
paradise…
